Believe it or not, the plan for Brixx Wood Fired Pizza was hatched on a ski slope! While skiing in Colorado, Operating Partner Eric Horsley had one of those “light bulb” moments. He headed back to Charlotte, NC, and shared his idea with Managing Partners Jeff Van Dyke and Barbara Bodford-Morgan. Together they opened the first Brixx Wood Fired Pizza in 1998 in the historic Dilworth neighborhood.
In developing the Brixx concept, the partners drew from all their combined restaurant experience. They knew they wanted to include all the fun stuff and eliminate the headaches. Everybody loves great pizza with a good beer, so the goal was to keep it simple and fun. That’s why Brixx has such a casual, relaxed feel!
Majority Partner Harding Stowe had only one request – “to have the best pizza in Charlotte.” No problem, Harding. Brixx has been voted Best Pizza by the readers of Creative Loafing, Charlotte Magazine and The Charlotte Observer.
